- <p> If pop rocker Curtis Stigers indeed Never Saw a Miracle,
- as he sings on his latest single, then he need look no further
- than his own career. In one year, the jazz-influenced crooner
- and composer has rocketed from nightclubs to stadiums, powered
- by his debut album and its soul-edged ballad I Wonder Why.
- Among his mentors, the Idaho refugee counts Elton John and Eric
- Clapton: "I learned to play saxophone by listening to rock
- guitar players like Clapton." Stigers starts a concert tour this
- week in New York City. Joining him at Shea Stadium: Clapton and
- John.
